Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 or 8 medium potatoes
    1 large onion
    5 or 6 carrots, sliced
    2 c. okra, sliced
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 cans tomato sauce
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Put okra, carrots and onions in pot.
    Add shortening; cook about 20 minutes.
    Add potatoes, salt and pepper; cook about 40 minutes more.
    Add tomato sauce about the last 5 minutes of cooking.
    Add 1 can of corn and mix well.
