Smoked Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. smoked sausage, cut in bite-size pieces
    8 medium potatoes
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    2 c. hot water
    1 carrot, shredded
    1 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cut sausage in bite-size pieces.
    Peel and slice potatoes (about 1/4-inch thick).
    If using new potatoes, wash and slice unpeeled potatoes.
    Shred carrot.
    Mix sausage, potatoes and carrot in a bowl.
    Mix hot water and onion soup mix.
    Pour into oblong baking dish.
    Put sausage mixture in dish and dot with butter.
    If desired, salt and pepper top.
    Cover with aluminum foil and bake 1/2 hour.
    Uncover and bake 15 minutes more at 350\u00b0.
