Toffee Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. sugar
1 c. margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk (reserve egg white)
Preparation

Beat all ingredients until well mixed.
Pat evenly onto greased 10 x 15-inch cookie sheet.
Beat egg white and brush over dough.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds or walnuts and pat gently into dough.
