Quick Homemade Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 oz. ground chuck
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (stewed)
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
    2 c. water
    3 Tbsp. minced parsley
    1 tsp. basil
    black pepper to taste
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
    1/2 c. small pasta shapes (such as alphabets)
Preparation
    In a 4 or 5-quart pan, brown ground beef, onion and garlic over medium heat for 5 to 8 minutes; drain fat.
    Add tomatoes, broth, water, oregano, basil and pepper.
    Bring to a boil; lower heat and simmer, partially covered, for 10 minutes.
    Add vegetables and pasta.
    Cook, uncovered, for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Add parsley.
    Makes 4 servings.
