Kolach (Nut Strudel)(Yield: 5 Strudels) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (include few tsp. butter)
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    2 yeast cakes
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    6 c. plain flour
    3/4 c. condensed milk
Preparation
    Mix yeast with lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon sugar.
    Cream shortening; add 1/2 cup sugar and cream well.
    Add eggs, one at a time and beat well.
    Add yeast mix and salt; mix well.
    Add flour alternately with condensed milk with 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
    Knead dough until it stops sticking to fingers.
    Divide into five equal portions.
    Roll about 1/4 inch thick on floured surface.
    Spread filling over dough.
    Roll up and brush top with melted margarine. Put in greased pan, set in warm place for 1 hour and let rise. Bake at 375\u00b0 until nice and brown.
