English Toffee Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 plain Hershey bars
    3/4 c. pecans (chopped)
Preparation
    Combine the sugar, butter and water in heavy saucepan.
    Cook at 300\u00b0 (to hard crack stage), stirring constantly without burning.
    Add vanilla and pour into buttered 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Lay 2 chocolate bars on top and spread them evenly as they melt. While still warm, sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
    Cool thoroughly and break into pieces.
