Cheddar Apple Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Beat in egg.
    Stir in apple pie filling.
    Add flour, salt, baking powder and soda, stirring just until dry ingredients are thoroughly moistened.
    Fold in cheese and nuts.
    Pour into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours until cake tests done.
    Cool completely before slicing.
