Wholesome Johnnycakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. regular or wheat flour
1/4 c. oatmeal
1/4 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 3/4 c. flour (if cornmeal and oatmeal omitted)
2 c. milk
1/4 c. vegetable or corn oil
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites
Preparation

Mix dry goods in bowl.
Separate eggs and whip egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff.
Set aside.
Add milk, oil and egg yolks to dry goods and mix thoroughly.
Batter consistency should be similar to a cake batter; if not, add more milk.
Fold in egg whites.
Cook on lightly oiled or sprayed griddle on low to medium heat.
Serve with favorite syrup or honey.
