Buttermilk Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 to 2 c. pecan halves
Preparation

Combine sugar, baking soda, salt and buttermilk in Dutch oven. Cook over high heat to 210\u00b0 on candy thermometer (about 5 minutes).
Stir frequently, scraping sides and bottom of pan.
Add butter and pecans.
Cook, stirring constantly to very soft ball sate (230\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
Remove from heat; cool 2 minutes.
Beat until thickened and creamy.
Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.
Makes 15 pralines.
