Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation

Mix sugar, cocoa, salt, milk and butter in large saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to full rolling boil.
Boil 3 minutes.
Remove from heat; add oatmeal, vanilla and nuts.
Stir until cool or proper consistency to drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper.
Makes 3 dozen.
