Refrigerator Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium to large head cabbage, shredded
    2 medium onions, sliced and separated
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. prepared mustard
    1 c. vegetable oil
Preparation
    Place cabbage and onions in layers in a large bowl.
    Pour 3/4 cup sugar over this mixture.
    Bring vinegar, salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, mustard seed and prepared mustard to a boil.
    Add vegetable oil.
    Beat mixture well.
    Spoon over cabbage mixture.
    Cover and let set in refrigerator for 24 hours before serving.
    Will keep 2 to 3 weeks.
