Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. yeast
    3/4 c. warm water
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    4 1/2 to 5 c. flour
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Add milk, 2 1/2 cups flour, shortening, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Mix with spoon until well blended, then beat with a spoon about four minutes.
    Add remaining flour (dough should be soft and sticky).
    Turn
    out and knead about three minutes. Shape dough into a loaf and place in a greased pan.
    Let it rise about one hour until double.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Makes one loaf.
