Oatmeal Crispies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars thoroughly.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Sift together flour, soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Mix in oats and nuts.
Shape into rolls; wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly.
Slice 1/4-inch thick.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
Yields 5 dozen.
This can be made ahead and frozen until ready for cooking.
