Divinity Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sugar
    16 saltine crackers, rolled to crush
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 (8 oz.) tub Cool Whip
Preparation
    Beat egg whites with mixer until frothy and add cream of tartar.
    Beat until stiff, gradually adding in the sugar.
    Add crackers by folding in only.
    Fold in nuts and vanilla.
    Bake in a well buttered 9-inch pie plate for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool and put 8 ounces of Cool Whip on top.
    Sprinkle with coconut (optional).
