Pan-Fried Onion Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 pinch cayenne pepper
    3/4 c. sour cream
    3/4 c. mayonnaise
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Peel and thinly slice onions. Saute the onion in the butter and oil until the onions are caramelized, about 30 minutes. Cool. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill for 1 hour. Serve dip with vegetables, chips or crackers. Makes 1 3/4 cups of dip.
