"Do Ahead" Brunch Special - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 slices white bread
    3/4 lb. Cheddar or sharp cheese
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli
    2 c. sliced cooked ham
    10 slightly beaten eggs
    3/4 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. minced onions
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation
    Cut circles (donut) from bread and save holes.
    One circle per slice of bread (use large glass and a shot glass for inside).
    Put bread scraps in bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Layer cheese over bread, then ham and then broccoli.
    Arrange bread circles over top.
    Use holes to fill in outer spaces.
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread mixture.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least six hours.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 55 minutes. This is an attractive dish; bread circles form a patterned crust when baked.
    At Christmas, tree cut-outs can be used.
