Mom'S Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Wash and drain strawberries.
    Combine with 1 1/2 cups sugar in large saucepan.
    Bring to a full rolling boil.
    Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Add remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar and lemon juice.
    Bring to a boil.
    Boil for 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Spoon into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace; seal with 2-piece lids.
    Store in refrigerator.
    Yield:
    3 cups.
