Orange Slice Christmas Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. cut-up orange slice candy
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. flaked coconut, unsweetened
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. soda
Preparation

Combine the buttermilk and soda.
Add alternately with the flour mixture to butter and eggs.
Mix well and add fruit mixture. Pour into a 10-inch tube pan, greased and floured.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Remove from oven.
While cake is still hot, pour a combination of 2 cups powdered sugar and 1 cup orange juice (canned, not frozen) over cake.
Let cool, then refrigerate overnight before removing from pan.
