Cranberry Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. coarsely chopped cranberries
Preparation
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Combine orange juice and rind with egg.
    Pour into dry ingredients, mixing just enough to dampen.
    Fold in nuts and cranberries.
    Spoon into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
    Spread corners and sides higher than center.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Good spread with cream cheese.
