Ma'S Soft Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. lard
    1 c. molasses
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 c. hot water
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 to 5 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, lard and molasses.
    Dissolve baking soda in hot water, then combine both mixtures.
    Sift flour, salt and ginger together.
    Combine with molasses mixture.
    Roll out on floured board to 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut with cookie cutter.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 oven.
