Grand Champion Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 sliced apples
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    3/4 c. light brown sugar
    1/4 c. pineapple or orange juice
    3 Tbsp. plain flour
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    For the apples, select Stayman or Granny Smith.
    Combine peeled and sliced apples, sugar, pineapple or orange juice and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes.
    Combine flour and spices in sifter and sift over boiling mixture.
    Cook, stirring 2 minutes longer.
    Add vanilla and butter.
    Let stand for 1/2 to 1 hour.
    Pour into pie pan lined with pastry.
    Top with lattice crust.
    Bake in a 425\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes or until pastry is done.
