Chop Suey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms and liquid
    1/2 c. water
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 1/2 c. celery, diagonally sliced
    1 c. green peppers, cut in 1-inch squares
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Freeze steak partially in
    order
    to
    cut
    it into very thin 3-inch strips.
    Brown in oil in skillet.
    Add vegetables, water, soup mix and soy
    sauce.
    Cover;
    simmer over low heat. Stir occasionally for 20 minutes.
    Blend cornstarch and water; stir into meat mixture
    until
    sauce is thickened.
    Serve over rice.
