Lemon Tea Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/8 tsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
1/2 c. skim milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
grated rind of one lemon
2 Tbsp. lemon verbena, chopped
poppy seed and anise (optional)
Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening and salt, and fold in remaining ingredients, except poppy seed and anise.
Bake in prepared metal loaf pan 45 minutes at 350\u00b0 (glass 325\u00b0).
Sprinkle poppy seed and anise on batter before baking if desired.
