Very Moist Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine or butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    3/4 c. molasses
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. ground ginger
    3/4 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream the butter. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, molasses and buttermilk.
    Combine flour, spices and salt. Dissolve soda in boiling water.
    Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with soda water, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
    Beat well.
    Pour batter into greased baking pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Cut into squares and serve while warm.
    Serve with Cool Whip topping.
    Yields 12 servings.
