Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. salt (canning)
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    4 c. strong vinegar
    8 small white onions, sliced
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 c. water
    2 green peppers, shredded (optional)
Preparation
    Put all ingredients together and allow to come to boiling point. Add 1 gallon sliced pickles. Again allow to come to boil. Can. (Be sure to boil as it makes them soft.)
