Creamy Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/8 tsp salt
    3 c. pecan pieces
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 to 1 tsp. Almond extract
Preparation
    Grease wax paper with butter and set aside.
    Cut butter or margarine into 1/2 inch pieces.
    Combine sugar and next 5 ingredients in large heavy saucepan.
    Cook over low heat stirring gently, until butter melts.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture reaches ball stage on candy thermometer reads 238\u00b0 (about 15 minutes).
    Remove from heat, stir in pecans and flavorings.
