Southern Black-Eyed Peas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. frozen black-eyed peas
    2 c. water
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. low sodium beef flavored bouillon granules
    1/4 tsp. ground savory
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
    vegetable spray
Preparation
    Combine peas and water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
    In a nonstick skillet, spray with vegetable spray.
    Saute onion in pan until soft; add bouillon granules, savory and red pepper flakes and stir to mix.
    Add this mixture to beans.
    Cover and let simmer 50 minutes or until tender.
