Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. sliced red beets
2 Tbsp. oleo
Preparation

Cook the first 5 ingredients until thick and add the beets and oleo.
Let stand in syrup 30 minutes before serving.
