Cake Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. margarine or butter
    1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. milk
    1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Preparation
    Combine about half of the flour, brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening, egg, milk, vanilla and baking soda.
    Beat with an electric mixer on medium to high speed until thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour.
    Stir in oats.
    Spread batter into an ungreased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
    Cool in pan on a wire rack.
    Frost with Peanut-Butter Frosting.
    Cut into bars.
    Makes 20.
