Baking Powder Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. once sifted pastry flour or 1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 to 5 Tbsp. shortening, chilled
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour once, then sift into bowl with baking powder and salt.
    Add shortening and milk and mix lightly.
    Knead 10 seconds on a lightly floured board and roll out to 3/4 inch thickness. Shape with floured cutter.
    Arrange on greased pan.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 about 12 minutes.
    Serve hot.
    Yield:
    16 biscuits.
