Sensible Double Chocolate Chip Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chocolate chips, divided
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    3 egg whites
    1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Over low heat, melt 1 cup chips, sugar, applesauce and margarine; stir until smooth.
    Remove from heat.
    Add egg whites; stir well.
    Stir in flour, baking soda and vanilla.
    Stir in rest of chips and nuts.
    Spread into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 16 to 20 minutes, or just until set.
    Cool completely.
    Cut into 2-inch squares.
