Boiled Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 c. Crisco
3 c. raisins
1 Tbsp. cloves
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. salt
3 1/2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. soda

Preparation

Boil together first 4 ingredients for 5 minutes.
Cool, then add remaining ingredients.
Grease, then flour baking pan (about 12 x 12-inch).
Pour batter into pan and bake at 300\u00b0.
Cook until done, approximately 30 minutes.
Good with or without icing.
