Deedie'S Congealed Asparagus Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. unflavored gelatin
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar or 16 pkg. Equal *
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. white vinegar
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 (15 oz.) can asparagus cuts
2 whole pimentos, chopped
1 c. celery, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. onion, chopped
Preparation

Soak gelatin in 1/4 cup water.
Add salt, sugar or Equal, boiling water and vinegar.
Cook on low heat, stirring until gelatin is dissolved.
Add remaining ingredients.
Pour into container and put in fridge to congeal.
Serve on lettuce and top with mayonnaise, if desired.
