Date-Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. pkg. dates
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. soda
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cut up dates, add boiling water and soda. Set to one side to cool while you beat egg.
    Add sugar and melted butter.
    Stir.
    Add date mixture and 2 3/4 cups flour alternately.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until tests done.
    Use 5 1/2 x 3-inch
    loaf pans to bake.
