Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box dates (8 oz.), cut up
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 tsp. salt
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over dates.
    Let stand until cool.
    Sift flour, soda, sugar and salt together and add to dates and water. Add egg and melted butter, vanilla and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Bake in a greased loaf pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
