Apple Slices - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. Crisco
1 egg yolk, beaten
1/2 c. milk
5 c. golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. butter
1 egg white, slightly beaten
Preparation

Sift flour with salt.
Cut in shortening until like coarse crumbs.
Mix egg yolk with milk and stir into flour mixture.
Roll half of dough out and fit into 11 1/2 x 7 1/2-inch pan.
Arrange apples on dough.
Mix 2 tablespoons of flour with sugar and pour over apples.
Dot with butter.
Roll out rest of dough to cover apple mixture.
Seal edges.
Brush with egg white.
Bake 45 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Cool.
Drizzle with confectioners sugar icing.
