Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. black beans
    3 slices bacon
    3 stalks celery
    3 carrots
    1 medium onion
    1 green pepper
    1 clove garlic
    3 c. chicken stock
    3 c. water
    1 lb. ham, cut up
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. red pepper
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight in cold water.
    Saute bacon until crisp. Dice celery, carrots, onion, pepper and garlic and saute with crisp bacon.
