Ingredients

3 lb. flank or round steak, cut 1/2-inch thick
1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. coarse ground pepper
garlic powder to taste
Preparation

Cut meat in 3/4-inch wide strips with grain.
Dissolve salt in warm water and add remaining ingredients.
Soak meat in mixture for about 2 hours, turning frequently so each piece is drenched. Place strips on paper towels for a few minutes.
Place on oven rack.
Cook at 120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0 for 8 to 9 hours with oven door slightly cracked open.
After cooking, turn off heat, open oven door and let air dry for 8 hours more.
Package in bags or jars.
