German Chocolate Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. melted butter
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Combine dry cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk together.
    Add the chopped nuts (optional), stirring by hand. Press 1/2 of cake mixture in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
    Remove and cool.
