Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean cubed stewing beef
    1 medium onion
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 c. catsup
    5 potatoes, peeled and quartered
    5 carrots, peeled and chunked
    1 can string beans
    1 can tomato soup
    1 can mushrooms
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    3/4 c. dry red wine (optional)
Preparation
    Brown meat and onion over medium heat.
    When thoroughly browned, add pepper, garlic powder, catsup, tomato soup, potatoes, carrots, thyme and string beans.
    Cook over medium heat for 1 hour.
    At the end of 1 hour, add mushrooms and red wine.
    Cook for 30 minutes more.
