Million Dollar Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    24 dill size cucumbers
    canning salt
    1 Tbsp. alum
    1 qt. white vinegar
    2 qt. sugar
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves
    few sticks cinnamon
Preparation
    Place cucumbers in brine strong enough to float an egg.
    Let stand 2 weeks.
    Rinse good.
    Cut in 1-inch pieces and cover with fresh water with alum added.
    Let stand overnight.
    Remove.
