Banana Meringue Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 c. milk
2 bananas, sliced
9-inch baked pie crust
Preparation

Combine 2/3 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt in top of double boiler.
Gradually stir in milk.
Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Beat egg yolks using fork; stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks. Immediately pour yolk mixture into remaining hot mixture, blending thoroughly.
Cook 2 more minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Gently stir in vanilla.
Let mix cool while preparing meringue.
