Spiced Pumpkin Rolls - cooking recipe

1 pkg. dry yeast
1/3 c. sugar, divided
3/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
1 c. pumpkin, cooked and mashed or canned
1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
3/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
3 3/4 c. bread flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
2 Tbsp. bread flour
Preparation

Dissolve yeast and 1/2 teaspoon sugar in warm water in a large bowl.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Stir in remaining sugar, pumpkin and next 3 ingredients.
Gradually stir in 3 3/4 cups bread flour and wheat flour to make a soft dough.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons bread flour evenly over work surface.
Turn dough onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic (8 to 10 minutes).
Place dough in a large bowl coated with vegetable cooking spray, turning to coat top.
Cover and let rise in a warm place (85\u00b0) free from drafts until dough is doubled in bulk.
