Butterscotch Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. light brown sugar
    1/4 lb. butter
    pinch of salt
    3/4 c. light Karo syrup
    3/4 c. heavy cream or light
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil, without stirring, and add cream gradually.
    Boil again.
    When cool, add vanilla extract.
