Sweet Potato Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    7 c. water
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. sugar (additional)
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix 1 1/2 cup sugar in the 7 cups water, stir until dissolved. Add potatoes, cook until fork tender, drain and reserve the water. Melt 1 stick of butter in a sheet cake pan, set aside.
    Combine the flour,1 cup sugar, milk and vanilla, mix well.
    Pour the batter into the sheet cake pan over the butter.
    (Do not stir.)
    Lay potatoes on batter, pour the reserved water from potatoes over mixture (don't stir).
    Bake in 400 degree oven for 45-50 minutes until browned.
