Barbecued Hamburg Stacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3 c. soft bread cubes
    1/4 c. hot milk
    Lemon Barbecue Sauce
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. marjoram
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
Preparation
    Combine ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper.
    Shape into 10 equal meat patties.
    Combine bread cubes with milk, egg, shortening, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, marjoram and onion.
    Shape into 5 bread patties.
    Place 5 meat patties in a shallow baking dish.
    Top each with a bread patty.
    Place another meat patty on top of the bread.
    Pour barbecue sauce over hamburg stacks.
    Bake in a preheated oven at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes, basting often with sauce.
