Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. chili powder
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1 1/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
2 c. whole kernel corn
1 c. cooked pinto or kidney beans
1/2 c. ripe black olives, drained
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Mix together cornmeal, milk and egg.
Brown the meat; add onions and garlic.
Continue to saute until onions are soft.
Stir in chili powder, tomatoes, corn, beans and olives.
Heat for 5 additional minutes.
Stir in the cornmeal mixture.
Place in a 2 1/2-quart casserole and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350\u00b0. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake for 5 more minutes until cheese melts.
Serves 6 to 8 for brunch, lunch or as dinner.
Serve with wilted spinach salad, broccoli spears and avocado slices.
