Crack-Top Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 c. flour or more
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Beat in molasses and egg.
    Stir in dry ingredients.
    Chill dough.
    Then form into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.
    Place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes.
