Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 strawberry cake mix
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. red food coloring
    2 pt. strawberries
    1 (10 oz.) bottle 7-Up
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 (16 oz.) bowl Cool Whip
Preparation
    Prepare cake according to directions.
    Bake in two 9-inch pans for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool and split cakes into halves.
    Cook 7-Up, cornstarch, sugar and food coloring until thick, like pudding.
    Slice strawberries and pour mixture over berries; cool. Put Cool Whip and mixture over cake.
