Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 oz. red food color
    2 tsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix soda and vinegar, set aside.
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make a paste of food coloring and cocoa in a large bowl. Add the egg and sugar mixture to the paste.
    Add the buttermilk along with the salt, sifted cake flour and vanilla.
    Fold in vinegar and soda.
    Bake in two 9-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes after cooling.
